Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana together with Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar witnessed the blessing and inauguration of the new Headquarters Building of the 7th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army at Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija on May 21, 2021.
“As the largest military reservation in the country, Fort Magsaysay has been one of the most important training grounds of the Philippine Army since 1955,” Secretary Lorenzana said.
“These developments complement our AFP Modernization Program,” he added.
Aside from the new headquarters building, the secretaries also participated in the ribbon cutting of other completed projects such as the Enlisted Personnel Barracks “A” (Special Forces Regiment (A) and “B”, Road-net at Molave (SFS), Four Storey Transient Facilities at Light Reaction Regiment and HLRR. The buildings are equipped with air condition units to fit the hot and humid weather in the area.
These are projects under the Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS), a DND-DPWH Convergence Program. Through this program, the DND aims to provide a more efficient and professional service to the country.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang suporta ng pamahalaan para sa ating mga kasundaluhan,” Secretary Villar said in his speech.
“Itong mga imprastraktura na ito ay maliit na bagay kumpara sa inyong sakripisyo at serbisyo sa ating bayan,” he added.
Also present in the event were General Cirilito Sobejana, Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines and Lieutenant General Arnulfo Burgos Jr., Commander of the Northern Luzon Command, and other 7th Infantry Division personnel.
