We welcome the move by the Kalinga State University (KSU) to withdraw books supplied by the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) from their school library. The NDFP was recently declared by the Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) as a terrorist group based on ATC Resolution No. 2021.

For far too long, the communist terrorist group (CTG) has destroyed many Filipino families by their deceptive recruitment of our youth in supposedly safe places such as schools. Thus, we commend the KSU’s courage to stand up and protect their students from the influence of the CTG. Such a move should be lauded and supported.

We encourage other schools and all stakeholders to be united and follow KSU’s lead to protect our youth from CTG deception. As part of our whole-of-nation approach, we must converge our peace and development efforts for the benefit of the future Filipino generations.
